The system works well and installation was fairly straightforward. My only minor feedback is that the initial setup took a little longer than expected, but everything has worked perfectly since.
I ran downstairs and stepped on wet carpet in my laundry room. My cat had pushed the faucet off the countertop and turned it on — probably rubbing on it. The only reason it didn't flood my wood floors, my kitchen, family room, living room, and hallway is because PlumBuddy shut off the water. I would have walked in this morning with a few inches of water across the main floor of my house. I said to my wife, "the goddamn PlumBuddy saved our house."
Setup was quick and the app is easy to use. Found a toilet tank leak day 1. Definitely satisfied so far.
The app had some issues but the team was on it and got the app back up and working. I have had no issues since that time and can not say enough about the piece of mind that having the valve and sensors give.
I installed my first Plumbuddy valve and 3 sensors a month ago in my primary rssidence, and just added 3 additional sensors this week. First, the Plumbuddy valve is high quality brass, versus the competition being cheaper plastic. The valve was pretty simple to install on my Pex-B piping. I installed the valve in my encapsulated crawlspace, where I already had a power receptacle closeby to plug in the valve. I did not encounter any problems during the valve installation or setup of the devices in the App. Installation took a little over an hour and a half - starting from scratch getting the valve installed, App downloaded / my account set up, and all devices connected; the job went quicker than I expected, which was positive. I have been very happy with both the product itself, and the App interface. It is clean, well designed, and functions well.
As a plumbing business owner. PlumBuddy is easy to install and operate. App interface is user friendly as well. Having to split my internet network to 2.4ghz was a little annoying. Once that's figured out. No issues at all. I would suggest supplying the unions for installation to save the homeowner or plumber a trip to acquire these. Or at least be clear they are not provided.
I installed a Plumbuddy smart valve (with the help of a plumber) and 13 remote leak detectors. When u attempt to pair a plumbuddy device and pairing fails, do not press the "retry" button, in my experience that wont work. Remove the backup battery from the Plumbuddy device and incase of the valve wait for the unit to fully discharge and stop flashing (about 5 days). Turn off bluetooth on your phone, delete the plumbuddy app, and power cycle your phone. Enable bluetooth, make sure your phone is set to the 2.4Ghz signal from your router, and reinstall the plumbuddy app. Then re attempt pairing, this consistently works in my experience.
The system has been running perfectly and performs as advertised.. The system is still function through Power outages and router signal loss. i filled up a bucket of water from a faucet insiide the house and plumbuddy detected it an shut off the water which was easily restored with the plumbuddy phone app or by pushing the green button on the plumbuddy valve. The app is pretty self explanatory and i like the fact that i can now monitor my daily household water useage.
Great customer service. Seems like a start-up, and I think it's a great company with a great product. We're refining our use of this for our Short Term Rental to be sure the property is always ready for guests. We had a problem with one of the water sensors and it was cheerfully replaced.
Quick and easy to install only problem I had was finding a reducing coupler to go from 1 1/4 to 3/4 they are not cheap
Our ranch has its own well and lots of irrigation valves for the garden & orchard. We feared a major leak going unnoticed and doing some very expensive damage to the well so installed on the main coming off the well. Support team has been great guiding us. Not proved, but it seems like the alarm settings are customizable enough that we can catch a long, high volume leak without a bunch of false alarms.
Outstanding product and impressive customer support. You are not alone in setting up PlumBuddy. The unit was highly recommended by my contractor (and installer) who was disappointed by trying to install the Moen. Plastic part broke and said to return it and get PlumBuddy. Sometimes the biggest company's products aren't the best. After two floods four years apart, we are less concerned when away for weeks at a time, knowing PlumBuddy has our backs to shut off a leak before it becomes a third lightning strike. Thanks "Buddy"!
Installed the Total Protection Pack last month and it was surprisingly straightforward. The sensors and valve work exactly as expected and it's nice knowing the water will shut off automatically if something happens.

The valve itself feels extremely well built and the sensors were easy to place around the house. Setup didn't take long and everything connected quickly. Overall very happy with the system.
Once we got it programmed correctly it has worked very well.

Seems to be a good product. Would like to see more options in app like realtime flow and being able to customize dates so that I could align readings on it with water bill. I’ve had 2 instances where it shut the water off when it didn’t need to, but it was easy to turn back on with the app.
Great experience so far. All of my requests have been resolve in a timely manner. The folks at PlumBuddy have been responsive and attentive.
